• In 1921, Guccio Gucci opened a leather goods company in Florence, Italy, beginning the Era of Gucci. In 1947 he created the famous Gucci leather hand bag with bamboo handle. In the 1950's, Gucci created numerous leather items, such as ties, luggage, shoes, and hand bags. The 1960's brought fame to Gucci when stars such as Audrey Hepburn and Jackie Kennedy brought fame to the label.

    The 1990's brought a fresh new start to Gucci. Tom Ford became the face of the label and with him, he brought back the iconic style of Gucci and introduced a variety of items, including leather fashions, perfumes, colognes, cosmetics, shoes, eyeglasses, and jewelery.
